My Story

My name is Jordi Hako. I'm a senior AI engineer and consultant. I help businesses, startups, and founders integrate AI into their operations and products so they stay ahead instead of playing catch-up. I build AI agents, automation systems, and intelligent pipelines that replace slow, manual, error-prone processes with systems that run on their own.

But I didn't start here. I started in Yaoundé, Cameroon.

Built on Discipline

I was born in Bafoussam and grew up in Yaoundé, where school was my first proving ground. I finished primary school as the top student in every single subject, and that pattern held through secondary school. I was allowed to sit the GCE Ordinary Level exam a full year early, in Form 4, and passed all 11 papers, finishing first in my examination center. At the Advanced Level, competing against students a year ahead of me, I finished first in my center again.

That track record opened doors. I earned university scholarship offers from the United States, China, Russia, and Turkey. I chose Turkey, where the scholarship was fully funded, learned Turkish in a year, and enrolled in Electronics and Communication Engineering at Kocaeli University.

The Engineer Who Learned to Sell

Here's where the story gets more interesting than grades.

International students in Turkey couldn't legally work, but I still had bills to pay. So I went online. I taught myself digital marketing, graphic design, video editing, and web development. I launched dropshipping stores and learned how to sell. Those ventures generated over $100,000 in sales while I was still a full-time engineering student.

That period cost me some GPA points, and it happened in the middle of the pandemic, which made everything harder. But it gave me something a transcript can't show: I learned how businesses actually make money, what founders actually struggle with, and how to build things people pay for. Most engineers learn to code. I learned to code and to understand the client on the other side of the invoice.

My engineering courses were also pulling me in a clear direction. I gravitated toward AI: building models, working with APIs, connecting systems to retrieve and act on data. I graduated in January 2023, and I knew exactly what I wanted to specialize in.

Going Deep on AI

I went on to Izmir Katip Çelebi University for a Master's in Software Engineering, focused on artificial intelligence: training models, applying them to real tasks, and building software around them. I completed the degree in 2025 with a perfect 4.0 GPA. The undergrad years proved I could build businesses while studying, the master's proved that when I focus on one thing, I finish at the top. That's been the pattern since primary school.

In parallel, I founded The Internet Engineer, my AI consulting agency, and started working with clients remotely across Europe and beyond. I also built The Internet Engineer into a French-language YouTube channel that now has over 16,000 subscribers, where I teach AI and automation to a growing francophone audience. Teaching something publicly forces you to understand it deeply. My audience keeps me sharp.

In July 2025, I moved to Canada, where I'm now based in the Waterloo region of Ontario.

What I Build Today

My work sits at the intersection of AI engineering and business operations. I've delivered systems for clients like Global Assets LLC and NetPrint, among others across Europe and North America. A few examples of what I build:

• AI-powered WhatsApp agents that handle customer conversations and bookings end to end, so businesses stop losing leads outside office hours
• Cargo and logistics management platforms with client and admin interfaces, real-time status updates, and role-based access
• AI voice prospecting and CRM systems that qualify leads automatically before a human ever picks up the phone
• RAG pipelines and custom AI agents built with Python, LangChain, and modern LLM APIs
• Automation stacks on n8n, Make.com, and Zapier that connect the tools businesses already use and eliminate hours of repetitive work every week

My core stack: Python, SQL, LangChain, RAG pipelines, n8n, Make.com, Zapier, Airtable, and the APIs of every major AI model provider.

When I'm not building systems, I'm making music. I play piano and guitar, and I sing. Music and engineering have more in common than people think, both reward pattern recognition, discipline, and the patience to practice something until it flows.
